Electrical Designer

Job Title: Electrical Designer (High Voltage Substations & CAD Focus) Overview: Seeking a dynamic Electrical Designer to join a team focused on high voltage, outdoor, and electrical substation projects.

This role involves creating detailed 2D and 3D electrical design layouts, supporting engineering initiatives, and collaborating with project teams. Ideal candidates will possess foundational design skills, a passion for learning, and familiarity with relevant software tools.

Salary: $65-80K HYBRID Company pays 100% of employee medical insurance Great PTO- Off Fridays in Summer- PAID Key Responsibilities: Design and layout electrical substations using AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D Develop 3D models and assemblies Generate material lists and assembly drawings Maintain and organize CAD files with Autodesk Vault Adhere to industry standards, codes, and project specifications Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and manufacturers Support ongoing project documentation and updates Required Skills: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, Inventor 3D, and Vault preferred Understanding of electrical and substation design principles Strong communication skills—verbal and written Problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail Fundamental understanding of geometry and mathematics 0-5 years of relevant experience Nice to Have Skills: Experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite) or SBS Software Background in steel design or structural steel experience Transferable skills in Revit, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical Power utility or engineering consulting background Preferred Education & Experience: Technical school certification or skilled trades training in electrical or civil engineering Relevant industry experience is a plus but open to trainable candidates coming out of college Other Requirements: Willingness to work primarily onsite; hybrid option for highly experienced candidates Strong desire to learn and grow within the company Pass the standard background check
