Technical Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements: • Experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer with significant technical ownership • Strong hands-on development skills with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js • Experience building APIs, backend services and cloud-based applications • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue • Solid understanding of system design, databases, performance and scalability • Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, as well as CI/CD and production monitoring • Track record of improving existing systems while continuing to deliver useful features • Approachable leadership style, with experience mentoring engineers and working across teams • Experience modernising platforms, building event-driven systems or supporting distributed engineering teams would be valuable • Interest in building useful technology with a positive impact; previous care-sector experience is not essential Responsibilities: • Lead technical delivery from initial design through development, release and ongoing operation • Stay hands-on with coding, architecture and code reviews • Evolve the platform, balancing new features with reliability, maintainability and technical debt • Coach engineers and encourage collaborative problem-solving • Work with product and business stakeholders to turn user needs into practical technical solutions • Improve development workflows, automated testing, deployment processes and monitoring • Make clear technical decisions and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical colleagues Technologies: • AWS • Backend • CI/CD • Cloud • Frontend • JavaScript • React • TypeScript • Vue • NodeJS More: We are recruiting a Technical Lead Engineer for a tech-for-good business developing software for the care sector.
