Senior Manager - R&D - Engineering Adhesives

Hiring: Senior Manager - R&D, Engineering Adhesives Experience: 5+ years in research and development Department: Research & Development Reports to: Head of R&D / Technical Director Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead research and development of engineering adhesives. This role will drive new product development, improve existing formulations, and ensure products meet customer, performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development and optimization of engineering adhesive formulations. - Manage R&D projects from concept and laboratory testing through scale-up and commercialization. - Develop test methods and evaluate adhesive performance, including bond strength, durability, chemical resistance, and environmental stability. - Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, procurement, and customers to resolve technical challenges. - Guide pilot trials and support transfer of products and processes to production. - Identify new materials, technologies, and application opportunities. - Ensure R&D work complies with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. - Maintain technical documentation, project records, specifications, and reports. - Mentor and support R&D team members and contribute to department planning. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in R&D, preferably in adhesives, polymers, sealants, coatings, or related materials. - Demonstrated experience with formulation development, testing, and product scale-up. - Strong understanding of adhesive chemistry, substrates, surface preparation, and bonding mechanisms. - Experience leading technical projects and working across functions. Preferred Skills: - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to interpret test data and make evidence-based recommendations. - Familiarity with laboratory equipment, quality systems, and applicable industry standards. - Customer-focused approach and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
