Senior Accountant

About the organisationThe organisation operates within the legal sector, providing comprehensive legal services across various jurisdictions and cultures. About the roleAs a Senior Accountant, you will support all areas of finance, ensuring accurate financial processes and reporting during a maternity leave cover. Key responsibilities • Prepare and review journal entries, perform ledger and account analysis, and conduct variance analysis • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with the firm's reconciliation framework • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes as required • Assist in the preparation of financial and management reporting, liaising with the World Firm Finance team • Ensure finance processes comply with internal controls and authorisation requirements • Support tax compliance requirements through coordination with stakeholders and external advisors • Assist with external audits and resolve queries in a timely manner • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency. Skills & experience • CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent professional accounting qualification) • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant role, including responsibility for financial reporting • Exposure to tax compliance, including GST, Payroll Tax, and Income Tax obligations • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis capabilities • Experience using Oracle Financials or a similar ERP system is preferred • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage competing priorities.
