The Opportunity Location: Remote Nature of Employment: Contract Schedule: 9-hour shifts, 6 days per week We're looking for people who understand sports, think creatively, and are ready to help grow our social media presence. Key Responsibilities • Manage social media accounts: Take ownership of Sportskeeda's MLB and NHL social media pages, ensuring consistent publishing and quality content. • Create engaging content: Develop compelling posts, captions, and content ideas tailored to each sport and its audience. • Cover live action: Follow games, breaking news, and major sporting events, delivering timely content and real-time coverage. • Develop content strategies: Work with the wider social media team to plan content, identify opportunities, and improve page performance. • Drive audience growth: Create content designed to increase reach, engagement, and referral traffic. • Monitor trends and competitors: Identify trending topics, fan conversations, and successful content formats to inform your approach. • Take ownership: Following an onboarding period, independently manage the day-to-day responsibilities of your assigned pages while collaborating with the wider team. Requirements • Knowledge of US sports, particularly MLB or NHL, is a plus. Knowledge of other major sports, such as the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, or the Olympics, is also welcome. • A genuine interest in sports and a willingness to learn about new leagues and competitions. • Excellent written and spoken English, with strong spelling, grammar, and copywriting skills. • Experience managing social media accounts or creating content for social platforms. • An understanding of social media trends, audience engagement, and content performance. • The ability to work independently, make sound editorial decisions, and respond quickly to breaking news. • Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social media analytics. • A personal computer and reliable internet connection. You don't need to be an expert in every sport.
