Retail Manager

Hansimikali Investments Pty Ltd (T/A Matex Fuel. ABN: 003 643 294) is looking for an outstanding Retail Manager for its busy Sydney-based operations Role is full-time (38 hours per week) Main duties • Plan, organise and manage the daily operations of the petrol station, convenience store and automatic car wash, ensuring efficient operations and high customer service standard • Determine product ranges, stock levels and purchasing requirements, manage retail supplier relationships and oversee inventory control, excluding fuel purchasing • Establish retail pricing strategies, coordinate monthly promotional activities and implement initiatives to increase sales and profitability, excluding fuel pricing • Manage employee recruitment, rostering, training, supervision and performance, including managing of all staff below Director-level • Monitor business performance, identify opportunities for operational improvement and report key results and recommendations to the Directors • Prepare and monitor operational budgets, process weekly employee payroll, manage PAYG and GST obligations, maintain accurate financial and business records • Responsibility for meeting workplace health and safety requirements, retail regulations and operational safety procedures • Conduct regular stocktakes and investigate stock discrepancies, wastage or losses • Prepare staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage during trading hours Qualifications • At least three years of relevant full-time experience in retail management or a comparable managerial position in lieu of formal qualifications • Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Business Administration or a related field • Strong knowledge of retail operations, staff management, inventory control and financial administration Experience • Extensive experience managing retail operations • Demonstrated experience in employee recruitment, rostering, training and supervision • Experience managing retail purchasing, stock control, sales performance and daily business operations • Experience in payroll processing, financial recordkeeping, budgeting and GST and PAYG administration • Experience maintaining customer service standards and ensuring compliance with workplace procedures Skills • Strong communication, complaint resolution, problem-solving and customer relationship management skills • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, MYOB, Xero, Reckon and Quickfuel • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records and follow workplace health and safety requirements • The ability to lead, motivate and manage a team in a busy retail environment • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail About the Company • Matex Fuel is an Australian fuel retailer based in Matraville, Sydney.
