Following a successful entry into the Polish market, the company is now accelerating its growth ambitions and preparing for a significant expansion phase across key cities nationwide. To support the continued growth of the business in Poland, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who will take ownership of the full accounting function for the Polish entity. Working closely with the Finance Director and external accounting partners, this person will play a key role in ensuring compliance, developing processes, and supporting the financial management of a rapidly expanding multi-location operation. This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals who enjoy working independently, taking responsibility for end-to-end accounting, and building scalable processes within a growing international organization. The role is particularly suited to candidates with experience in retail, food service, hospitality, or other multi-site businesses. Your responsibilities • Take ownership of the full accounting cycle for the Polish entity, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, and accruals in cooperation with accounting providers • Prepare statutory financial statements in line with the Polish Accounting Act and support group reporting • Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance (VAT, CIT, WHT, JPK_V7, KSeF), cooperating with external tax advisors • Manage AP/AR, cash and bank transactions (PLN/EUR), fixed assets, inventory, and accounting processes for a multi-location business • Reconcile daily POS sales and monitor financial performance across locations, including costs, CAPEX, leases, and new store opening budgets • Review and monitor the month-end inventory stocktake process to ensure accuracy and compliance • Coordinate payroll accounting and related ZUS/PIT obligations in cooperation with HR and external payroll providers • Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting tools • Act as a key finance partner to the Finance Director and support the company's continued growth in Poland Our requirements • Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a fully independent, end-to-end accounting role • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field • Strong knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations, including VAT, CIT, JPK, and KSeF • Experience with group reporting and month-end closing in an international or multi-entity environment • Practical experience with ERP/accounting systems (Comarch preferred) and advanced Excel skills • Fluent English (C1), both written and spoken • Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work effectively under deadlines Optional • ACCA, CIMA, or KIBR qualifications will be an advantage • Experience in retail, food service, hospitality or other multi-location businesses • Previous involvement in setting up accounting processes within a new entity or market What we offer • Opportunity to play a key role in an international retail organization, with a real opportunity to shape the company's accounting function • The chance to grow and advance your career in line with the company's ongoing expansion • Flexible cooperation model (Employment Contract or B2B) • Competitive salary package aligned to seniority, with annual performance bonus • Private medical care and insurance package Benefits • private medical care • life insurance Adecco Poland Sp. z o.o.
