Software Engineering Manager

I'm currently working with an innovative technology company that's building large-scale software solutions used in mission-critical environments. They're looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of 10-12 engineers in their Vancouver office. What You'll Be Doing: • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-12 software engineers • Drive technical strategy and delivery across complex software platforms • Partner with architects and senior leadership on system design and engineering best practices • Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical decision-making • Help modernize development processes, tooling, and CI/CD practices • Hire, onboard, and grow engineering talent as the team continues to scale What They're Looking For: • 8+ years of software engineering experience • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience • Strong technical background with both C++ and C# • Experience building and supporting large-scale applications, APIs, or distributed systems • Strong understanding of software architecture, Agile development, and modern engineering practices • Ability to balance technical leadership with people management Nice to Have: • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices • Background in IoT, embedded systems, hardware-integrated software, or real-time applications This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys staying close to the technology while managing and developing high-performing teams.
