AI Software Engineer

Join us now as AI Software Engineer in AP within the AI Center of Enablement team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development and deployment of full-stack Generative AI (GenAI) applications for selected use cases in the Asset Management space. This role works closely with domain experts to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements for development. By leveraging Generative AI, you take an active role in driving the development of innovative solutions and providing technical guidance to the development team where necessary. Being a member of a central AI team in collaboration with other engineers & architects, you will contribute to the development of prototypes to assess technology readiness and suitability for specific applications, and ultimately deliver to the scaling of the most promising prototypes into production-ready applications and platforms. What You Do • Development of full-stack solutions for GenAI applications, integrating both frontend and backend components to deliver robust and scalable solutions, and ensuring company policies/procedures are adhered to for AI solutions the team manages • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate these into technical requirements for application development • Ideation and development of solutions and co-creation with development teams to transition prototypes into production where viable • Research and share the latest industry trends and technologies to help foster AllianzGI relevant innovation and business transformation What You Bring Education: • University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science or related fields Experience • A minimum of three years’ experience in full stack application development, including delivery of production applications, is required • Ideally industry experience in Investment Banking/Asset Management • A minimum of two years’ industry experience in GenAI application development, including deploying and supporting GenAI applications in production • A minimum of three years’ experience working with agile teams, required Knowledge & Technical Skills • Proficiency in Python, including experience with libraries and frameworks relevant to GenAI application development (e.g., FastAPI, LangChain, and Microsoft Agent Framework / Semantic Kernel) • Detailed understanding and hands‑on experience with large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, multi‑agent system design, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architecture, embedding techniques, prompt engineering, and Model Context Protocol (MCP). • Experience with LLMOps and evaluating GenAI output quality and reliability. • Experience with AI‑assisted software development using coding agents. • Experience with Databricks is a plus. • Experience with modern web development frameworks and languages, including React, TypeScript, and Node.js, with a background in building and maintaining both front‑end and back‑end applications • Experienced working with production‑grade vector databases (e.g., Azure AI Search, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, pgvector, Chroma, or Milvus) for efficient storage and retrieval of embeddings • Ideally experienced with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and Cloud native services in Azure • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) • Experience with Agile development and DevOps practices using tools such as Harness, GitHub, JFrog, Jira, and Datadog • Ability to create unit tests, integration tests using common testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Playwright) • Ideally knowledge and strong understanding of component‑based architecture, state management and intuitive UX design principles • AI skills: Microsoft CoPilot What We Offer • Balanced work environment: A dynamic office culture that supports flexibility and collaboration • Secure your future: Access to pension, retirement, and/or savings plans as applicable to the work location • Shared success: Company share purchasing plan • Support for what matters: Mental health and wellbeing programs • Investments in your career: Career opportunities within the entire Allianz Group • Investments in your skills: Comprehensive learning and development offerings, including certifications and professional qualifications • … and so much more!
