Data Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements: • Strong SQL development experience. • Experience developing data integrations and working with APIs. • Experience using Python or another programming or scripting language. • A good understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies. • Experience working with relational databases and database schema design. • Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes. • A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement and learning new technologies. • Experience with Databricks and modern cloud data platforms would be advantageous. • Experience with Microsoft Azure data technologies, including Azure Data Lake and Azure Analysis Services, would be advantageous. • Experience with Snowflake and ThoughtSpot would be advantageous. • Familiarity with Kimball and Inmon data warehousing methodologies would be advantageous. • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and emerging AI technologies would be advantageous. Responsibilities: • Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. • Extract, transform and load data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, APIs and cloud platforms. • Develop and maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party applications. • Support the migration to Databricks and the adoption of modern cloud-based data architectures. • Build and optimise data models, database schemas and data warehouse structures. • Work closely with BI Developers to deliver accurate, reliable and scalable reporting solutions. • Collaborate with Finance, Commercial and Operational teams to understand business requirements and data challenges. • Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity and governance. • Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency and data accessibility. • Explore AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities. We are investing heavily in data and analytics, undertaking a major migration to Databricks and ThoughtSpot, and evolving our data platform and architecture. Youll work closely with Finance, Commercial Analysts and our wider Technology team in a hands-on role focused on solving data challenges and improving processes. We offer a salary of £55,000–£60,000 per year, depending on experience, excellent additional benefits, private healthcare, an employer pension contribution, free and on-site parking, and hybrid working with two days per week in the office.
