In addition to contributing directly to the code across the entire technology stack, you will act as a technical reference for the team: you will support less experienced developers, influence architectural decisions, and help raise quality standards. Your decisions will have a direct and visible impact on the product and on the team’s growth. Responsibilities Developmen t • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, tested, and reliable code on both the front end and back end; • Design and evolve APIs and services; • Participate in architectural decisions and propose technical solutions tailored to business needs; • Prepare detailed test plans and write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end); • Diagnose and resolve complex performance, security, and reliability issues in production; • Evaluate new technologies and development tools and make recommendations; • Write and maintain technical documentation. Mentoring and Technical Leadership • Support and mentor junior and intermediate developers through pair programming, knowledge sharing, and support in their development; • Lead code reviews with a constructive and educational approach; • Define, document, and promote the team’s coding standards and best practices; • Contribute to the technical onboarding of new team members; • Lead or participate in design workshops, estimation sessions, and deployment activities; • Coordinate the various stages of the development cycle in collaboration with analysts, product owners, designers, and other developers; • Act as a technical point of contact for non-technical stakeholders and explain technical issues in easy-to-understand terms. Qualifications Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or another relevant field of study, or equivalent experience; • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full stack development, including demonstrated experience mentoring or supporting developers; • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React; • Strong back-end development experience with Node.js and/or Go; • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and caching systems (Redis); • Experience in system design: application architecture, APIs, data management, performance, and the BFF (backend-for-frontend) model; • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows; • Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and best practices (clean code, testing, security); • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written. Frequent interactions outside Quebec. Assets • Experience with Docker and containerization; knowledge of Kubernetes is an asset; • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and AWS cloud computing; • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); • Experience as a technical team lead (tech lead) or in a technical reference role.
