Data Engineer – Contract Position – HIRING ASAP Location: Hybrid working in London office Start Date: ASAP Duration: 7-month contract Daily Rate: £250 - £350 per day PAYE (Negotiable) Summary We are seeking a temporary Data Engineer to support data pipelines, reporting, and analytics needs across cross-functional stakeholders. In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain scalable datasets and data processes that enable reliable metrics, dashboards, and business insights. Responsibilities • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines and data models to support reporting and analytics use cases • Write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and performance • Develop and maintain reporting datasets and documentation to improve data reliability and usability • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into well-defined data solutions • Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data outputs • Support ad hoc data analyses and investigate data issues as needed Key Skills • 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, or Analyst in a product- or service-based company • 2+ years of experience working with SQL, ETL, and reporting (including building or supporting production data pipelines) • Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or C++) • Experience working with structured datasets, data modeling concepts, and analytics/reporting workflows • Strong communication skills, including the ability to document processes and explain technical concepts clearly Top 3 Skills • SQL • Python • AI Usage • Visualization/Dashboard Development Bonus Skills • Data Logging • Past experience working for a product-based tech company
