Vice President - Human Resources - B2C Manufacturing

Company Profile: Our client is a leading, large-scale Indian B2C manufacturing organisation with an established manufacturing footprint, a strong national presence and an extensive sales and distribution network. The organisation is focused on business growth, operational excellence, talent development and strengthening its organisational capabilities. Role Overview: The organisation is seeking an accomplished HR leader to head the Human Resources function and drive strategic as well as operational HR initiatives across the business. The incumbent will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership, ensuring alignment between HR strategy, business priorities and organisational objectives. The role requires a strong combination of strategic HR leadership, manufacturing operations exposure, industrial relations expertise and the ability to operate effectively in a promoter-led business environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic HR Leadership: - Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and processes aligned with organisational objectives. - Drive organisational development, change management and workforce effectiveness. - Strengthen HR governance, systems, processes and performance metrics. 2. Plant HR, Industrial Relations & Employee Relations: - Lead Plant HR operations across manufacturing facilities. - Manage industrial relations, employee relations, labour law compliance and workforce engagement. - Handle union negotiations, collective bargaining, wage settlements and related workforce matters. - Ensure industrial peace and effective management of contractual, casual and fixed-term employees. 3. Sales HR: - Oversee HR operations supporting sales and distribution teams. - Align workforce planning, talent acquisition and performance management with business requirements. 4. Talent & Organisational Development: - Drive talent management, succession planning, leadership development and learning initiatives. - Implement performance management systems and support the development of a high-performance culture. - Strengthen organisational structures, competency frameworks and employee development plans. 5. Promoter & Senior Management Interface: - Work closely with the Managing Director, promoters and senior leadership. - Provide effective HR insights, business updates and strategic recommendations. - Demonstrate sound judgement, discretion and the ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships in a promoter-led organisation. 6. Compensation, Benefits & HR Governance: - Oversee compensation and benefits planning, manpower budgets and related HR processes. - Monitor HR metrics and workforce costs to support business decisions. Candidate Profile: - 20 - 25 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in large-scale manufacturing. - Currently working as Head of HR or second-in-command in a sizeable B2C manufacturing organisation. - Strong preference for candidates from FMCG or FMCD manufacturing. - Demonstrated experience across Plant HR, IR, ER and Sales HR operations. - Thorough understanding of promoter-led organisations and direct promoter reporting. - Strong knowledge of labour legislation, union management and collective bargaining. - Excellent leadership presence, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. - Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources.
