About the Role Our client is looking for a motivated Buyer specializing in raw materials to join their procurement team in Paarl . This role is essential for ensuring the consistent and cost-effective supply of materials needed for production. You will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and managing inventory levels to support operational needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of raw material markets, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office-based tasks with remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities • Source and procure raw materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes. • Monitor market trends for raw materials and identify potential risks or opportunities. • Manage supplier relationships, assess performance, and resolve any supply chain issues. • Collaborate with production and planning teams to forecast material needs and manage inventory levels. • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Requirements • Experience as a Buyer , with specific knowledge of raw material procurement. • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. • Familiarity with supply chain operations and inventory management principles. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. • A relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is desirable.
