Visit macmillaneducation.com and follow @MacmillanEducation / @MacmillanELT About the role: Analysis of entity expenses by cost centre in a trial balance structure, preparation of expenses Budget & Forecast according to Group financial expectations in conjunction with entity operative areas. Complete monthly information submissions to group and assist Finance Manager and Coordinator to prepare finance scenarios and analysis related mainly to expenses. Role responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze monthly expense reports by area, applying strong accounting principles, financial acumen, and data analytics skills to ensure accuracy, completeness, and meaningful financial insights. • Perform risk and operational analyses of monthly expenses against budget and forecast, leveraging quantitative analysis, financial knowledge, and technology tools to identify trends, variances, and potential areas of concern. • Review key variances with budget owners and business areas, communicating findings effectively and providing clear, data-driven recommendations to support decision-making by the Finance Manager and Coordinator. • Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, utilizing financial acumen, accounting expertise, and resourcefulness to support accurate planning, modeling, and expense management. • Submit monthly expense information to the UK Finance team, ensuring compliance with financial and tax reporting requirements while maintaining data integrity, accuracy, and timely communication across stakeholders. • Support financial reporting and analysis activities by leveraging technology solutions, applying sound accounting practices, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency. Experience, skills and qualifications Essential : • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (graduate or in final stages; certification not required) • Or recent graduates with internship experience • If working experience: at least 1 year of experience as a Financial Analyst (any industry) • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) • Intermediate English (B1, spoken and written; ability to join UK meetings and handle emails) • Comfortable working under high workloads (until ~7–8 pm) • Residence in Mexico City within a reasonable commuting distance (no more than 1 hour away from the office) Desirable: • Experience in smaller firms or companies, with interest in a global environment • Experience in Advisory or Audit is a plus • Excel experience in macros is a plus • Power BI is a plus • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Contpaq, SAP, or Oracle • Experience in Big Four firms is a plus • Industry background is a plus At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
