Construction Project Engineer

About the Role Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure and building projects in Richards Bay . You will be instrumental in supporting project managers by overseeing technical aspects, ensuring projects adhere to design specifications, and coordinating engineering activities. This role requires a strong foundation in civil or structural engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within a project team environment. You will be involved in the planning, execution, and monitoring phases, ensuring all engineering requirements are met to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities • Assist Project Managers in planning and executing construction projects, focusing on engineering deliverables. • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with design intent. • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues and design queries. • Monitor site activities to ensure construction is performed according to engineering standards and quality benchmarks. • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation related to project engineering aspects. • Support the implementation of site safety plans and quality control procedures. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • 2+ years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar role within the construction industry. • Solid understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and site safety. • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications. • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and project management tools. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
