Civil Engineer - Structural and Building Services

About the Role Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Civil Engineer with a focus on Structural and Building Services to join their established team in Queenstown. This role is critical for ensuring the structural integrity and functional efficiency of various construction projects. You will be involved in the design, analysis, and supervision of building foundations, superstructures, and associated civil services. Working on diverse projects within the Eastern Cape, this position requires a solid understanding of structural principles and construction methodologies. Key Responsibilities • Perform structural analysis and design for foundations, concrete, and steel structures. • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for building projects. • Conduct site inspections to ensure construction quality and adherence to design specifications. • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to resolve design and construction issues. • Assess and design site services, including stormwater management and access roads. • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, SANS standards, and safety regulations. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. • Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and building services engineering. • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Prokon, SAP2000) and CAD platforms. • Solid understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and project management principles. • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
