Head Finance & Accounts
Business Planning:
- Key inputs for delivering the 4 year business plan, budgets, and control systems.
- Provide strong lead for managing the key trends and indicators such as profitability, margin management etc.
Financial Planning and Reporting:
- Ensure financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and budgets etc.
- Foster smooth working relationships with other departments for budget preparation and forecasting.
- Provide periodic financial data for long-term financial planning and provide trends through financial analysis.
- Identify potential financial issues with current or potential impact and offer advice/solution.
- Review contractual obligations to ensure consistency with overall financial objectives, plans and compliance.
Accounting & Department Oversight:
- Ensure smooth operation of the department to ensure efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions - accounts payable, receivable, cash disbursement, payroll etc.
- Implement system and process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide strong leadership to the department and build an effective team.
Compliance, Internal Controls and Audits:
- Establish internal control procedures and ensure appropriate checks and balances are in place.
- Ensure compliance of statutory dues and returns filing of Income Tax, TDS, profession Tax, GST etc.
- Keep abreast with relevant State/National Laws and other laws that govern Charitable Institutions - income tax rules, GST rules, profession tax, PF etc. and ensure compliance.
- Oversee Internal and Statutory Audits and liaison with relevant consultants/statutory bodies.
Project Finance & Collaborations:
- The role is expected to provide support which includes project finance, dealing with Banks, large scale vendors, processing substantial disbursements, and occasionally support procurement of material etc.
- Collaboration with institutions of repute abroad, and the (i) communication, (ii) International Tax, and (iii) Digital skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Evaluate new projects and business opportunities through financial modelling, feasibility and ROI analysis.
- Prepare financial models, MIS and presentations for management, investors and lenders.
- Monitor financial KPIs and provide regular performance reports to the CEO and Board.
2. Financial Operations:
- Oversee accounting, finance, treasury, tax and payroll functions.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of books of accounts, including GL, AR, AP and inventory.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements as per Ind AS.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, collections and payments.
3. Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, RBI and other applicable regulations.
- Oversee tax returns, payments, GST refunds and statutory compliance.
- Provide tax advisory for business decisions and support tax planning.
- Support the US parent company with tax returns and related financial matters.
4. Treasury & Banking:
- Manage banking relationships and financial institutions.
- Lead debt/equity financing and fundraising activities.
- Negotiate financing terms and optimize cost of funds.
- Oversee cash management, foreign exchange and financial risk management.
5. Investor & Stakeholder Management:
- Prepare investor presentations and fundraising materials.
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders and key stakeholders.
- Represent the company in investor meetings, fundraising discussions and roadshows.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
- Drive recruitment, training and performance management of finance professionals.
- Build a high-performance, accountable and collaborative finance function.
7. Strategic & Business Advisory:
- Provide financial and strategic advice to the CEO and executive leadership.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities and areas for cost optimisation.
- Support business growth, investment decisions and strategic planning.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall business strategy.
Note:
- The scope of responsibilities may be expanded or revised from time to time at the discretion of the Company.
The Person:
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant.
- Experience: Experience of working in a finance function of a listed entity for about 18 - 22 years.
- Overall Senior Leadership experience of 15 - 18 years covering broad areas such as Treasury, Controllership, FP&A, Accounts, Consolidation & reporting and taxation. In addition, exposure to Legal and secretarial would be preferable.
- Good business partnering experience and exposure of supporting businesses across costing, pricing, segment/BU Competencies.
