Position Overview
The Business Development Manager – Guarding & Security Technology is responsible for driving business growth through the development of new clients, new projects, and strategic business opportunities in security guarding services and security technology solutions .
The successful candidate must have relevant experience in the security industry , combined with practical knowledge and skills in security technology . The candidate must also demonstrate a proven track record of successfully developing business, securing contracts, and generating revenue .
This position requires an individual who understands both the operational requirements of security guarding and the application of technology to enhance security operations , and who can translate client requirements into commercially viable security solutions.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Development
•
Develop and implement business development strategies for security guarding and security technology services.
•
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, residential, retail, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, data centre, and other sectors.
•
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and business opportunities.
•
Generate new leads through networking, referrals, industry contacts, tenders, RFPs, RFQs, market research, and direct business development activities.
•
Develop relationships with key decision-makers, including business owners, facility managers, security managers, procurement personnel, and senior management.
•
Manage the complete business development cycle from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, contract award, and handover.
2. Security Guarding Services
•
Develop new business opportunities for manned security guarding services.
•
Understand client security requirements and recommend appropriate manpower deployment and service models.
•
Conduct site visits and security needs assessments.
•
Work closely with operations teams to develop practical manpower deployment plans and service proposals.
•
Prepare commercial proposals and quotations for guarding services.
•
Identify opportunities to expand existing guarding contracts through additional services, sites, or manpower requirements.
•
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities for contract renewal and expansion.
3. Security Technology Solutions
•
Develop business opportunities involving security technology and electronic security systems.
•
Understand and promote appropriate security technology solutions, including:
•
CCTV and Video Management Systems (VMS)
•
Video Analytics and AI-enabled surveillance
•
Access Control Systems
•
Biometric Systems
•
Visitor Management Systems
•
Intrusion Detection and Alarm Systems
•
Guard Tour Systems
•
Remote Monitoring / Video Monitoring

Security Command Centre solutions
•
Security Workforce / Guard Management Systems

IoT and smart security solutions

Integrated security management platforms
•
Understand the basic technical requirements, capabilities, limitations, and applications of different security technologies.
•
Identify opportunities where technology can improve security effectiveness, operational efficiency, manpower deployment, and cost management.
•
Work with technical teams, system integrators, vendors, and technology partners to develop suitable solutions.
•
Participate in product demonstrations, client presentations, proof-of-concept exercises, and technical discussions where required.
4. Integrated Guarding & Technology Solutions
•
Develop integrated solutions combining security officers and security technology .
•
Assess client requirements and recommend suitable combinations of manpower, technology, monitoring, and operational processes.
•
Develop solutions that improve security coverage while achieving operational and commercial objectives.
•
Work with operations and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, scalable, and deliverable.
•
Support the implementation and handover of newly awarded projects to the relevant operational and technical teams.
5. Tender & Proposal Management
•
Identify and monitor relevant tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and other business opportunities.
•
Lead the preparation of tender and business proposals.
•
Coordinate with operations, technical, finance, HR, and management teams to develop complete proposals.
•
Prepare presentations, solution proposals, commercial submissions, and supporting documentation.
•
Participate in tender briefings, site surveys, presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions.
•
Ensure proposals clearly communicate the company's security capabilities, technology solutions, service quality, and value proposition.
6. Client Relationship Management
•
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
•
Understand clients' security challenges, operational requirements, and business objectives.
•
Conduct regular client meetings and business reviews.
•
Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, contract expansion, and additional security solutions.
•
Act as a key point of contact during the business development and commercial negotiation process.
7. Market & Technology Development
•
Monitor developments and trends within the security industry.
•
Keep up to date with emerging security technologies and solutions.
•
Research competitors, market conditions, customer requirements, and industry opportunities.
•
Identify new technologies that may create business opportunities or improve the company's service offerings.
•
Develop relationships with technology manufacturers, distributors, system integrators, consultants, and strategic partners.
8. Sales Performance & Reporting
•
Achieve agreed business development, revenue, gross profit, and new-client targets.
•
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, tenders, and sales activities.
•
Maintain and regularly update the sales pipeline and forecast.
•
Provide regular business development reports to management.
•
Analyse sales performance and develop appropriate actions to achieve business targets.
Mandatory Requirements1. Security Industry Experience
The candidate must have relevant working experience in the security industry .
