Your mission is simple: help Jumbo engineers build better software, faster. With your technical background, you shape the direction of our platforms, improve developer experience and explore how automation and AI can make software development smarter and more efficient. Get started! This is what you will do You lead one Developer Experience team and two Front End Platform teams. These teams build and manage the platforms, tooling and standards that help development teams work faster, more consistently and with greater quality. Developer experience is at the heart of the role. Across the entire software development lifecycle, you identify where engineers lose time and work with your teams to remove friction. This can involve developer tooling, CI/CD, cloud platforms, infrastructure, standards or automation. You have a strong software engineering background and understand the broader technology landscape, from cloud and infrastructure to distributed systems and operations. This makes you a credible sparring partner for senior engineers and architects. You do not need to make every technical decision yourself. Instead, you create alignment, facilitate the right conversations and help teams turn ideas into tangible improvements. Ultimately, your goal is clear: create an environment where developers can focus on building great products and delivering value to our customers. Key responsibilities: • Lead one Developer Experience team and two Front End Platform teams. • Drive people management, performance, talent development and recruitment. • Own delivery, budgets and platform outcomes. • Improve developer experience across the software development lifecycle. • Help shape the technical direction of platforms, cloud, infrastructure and developer tooling. • Enable teams to build, operate and continuously improve their platforms. • Translate AI and automation opportunities into practical solutions for engineers. • Represent the needs of the development community across Product, Architecture and Technology. Together we are Jumbo: this is where you will work You will join Jumbo Tech & Data, where software plays a key role in our digital products and services. Your teams build platforms for engineers and help accelerate software delivery across the organisation. Working closely with Product, Architecture and engineering teams, you will help shape the future of software development at Jumbo. Profile • You have experience leading engineers and helping technical professionals grow. • You have a technical background in software engineering, platform engineering, SRE, distributed systems, infrastructure, or system administration. • You understand the full software development lifecycle and the underlying cloud and infrastructure layers. • You have been accountable for delivery and understand how to help technical teams deliver predictably. • Developer Experience matters to you and you quickly identify where engineers experience unnecessary technical friction. • You actively follow developments in automation, AI-assisted development, and agentic engineering. • You are technically credible, able to earn engineers’ trust, and bring different technical perspectives together. We offer • A gross salary between €6.000 - €7.700 per month (based on 40 hours). • An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals. • 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance. • You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry. • A(n) (electric) lease car.
