Solution Architect (Trust Retail)

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year Requirements: • At least 7 years experience as a senior developer, solution architect, or in a similar technical leadership role • Thorough knowledge of software architecture, development practices, and object-oriented design • Solid understanding of AWS cloud services • Experience designing software with security in mind • Working knowledge of databases and SQL, particularly MySQL • Experience with microservice-based architectures • Understanding of Agile methodology and processes • Self-motivated and proactive, with a professional and positive approach • Able to work independently while mentoring and collaborating with team members • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a thorough approach to complex problems • Organised and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels • Successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations • Desirable: Bachelors degree in computing, mathematics, science, or a related field • Desirable: Experience with Maven and Gradle build tools • Desirable: Experience using static code analysis tools such as SonarQube or SonarCloud Responsibilities: • Define and design end-to-end technical solutions aligned with business requirements and technical direction • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to bridge product and technical teams • Create high-level and low-level architectural designs, diagrams, and documentation • Propose appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms, selecting options in collaboration with the Technical Lead • Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable • Serve as the technical authority throughout the development lifecycle across teams • Guide and mentor development teams on architectural decisions and best practices • Conduct code and design reviews to ensure adherence to architecture standards • Ensure solutions comply with security, regulatory, and compliance requirements • Help evaluate and manage technical debt, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies • Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, internally and with external clients • Participate in an on-call rota, providing 24/7 support coverage for approximately one week every 5 to 6 weeks, depending on rota size Technologies: • AWS • Architect • Cloud • Gradle • Support • Maven • MySQL • SQL • Security More: We are Trust Payments, an MFSA-regulated company in Malta and an FCA-regulated company in the UK. The role is based in our central Bournemouth office full-time for the first three months, after which a hybrid working pattern is available. Shortlisted candidates attend an in-person interview at the Bournemouth office.
