We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technical Services team. This role is ideal for a technically capable engineer who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges, designing reliable solutions, and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients. You will bring deep networking expertise combined with strong Microsoft infrastructure skills and the ability to work across a broad range of technologies. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, requiring a balance of project delivery, technical support, troubleshooting and customer engagement. About the Role As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting and optimising critical client infrastructure environments. You will work closely with project managers, consultants, service desk engineers and client stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing technology solutions. You will play a key role in both project delivery and technical escalation, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our services and technical standards. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement and support enterprise networking solutions. • Deploy and maintain Microsoft server and cloud technologies. • Lead infrastructure-focused project work and technical implementations. • Provide technical escalation and troubleshooting. • Perform infrastructure assessments, audits and health checks. • Develop technical documentation, standards and runbooks. • Support cybersecurity initiatives and infrastructure hardening activities. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes. • Participate in solution design workshops and technical planning sessions. • Assist with pre-sales scoping and technical discovery where required. Technical Skills & Experience Networking (Essential) Strong experience with: • Fortinet, Juniper, Aruba, Cisco, Ubiquiti switching and routing • Fortinet and Sophos firewalls and security solutions • VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN and network segmentation • Wireless network design and optimisation • Network security and performance troubleshooting • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and routing protocols • Network monitoring and diagnostics Microsoft Technologies (Preferred) Experience with: • Microsoft 365 • Azure • Entra ID (Azure AD) • Windows Server • Active Directory • Group Policy • Hybrid cloud environments • Exchange Online • SharePoint Online • Microsoft Intune • Endpoint management and security Infrastructure, Virtualisation & Telephony Experience with: • VMware vSphere • Hyper-V • Storage platforms • Backup and disaster recovery solutions • High availability and business continuity solutions • Infrastructure monitoring platforms • On-premise PABX (Grandstream) • Cloud PBX • Session Border Controllers Cybersecurity & Physical Security Exposure to: • Microsoft Defender • Security baselines and hardening • Conditional Access • MFA and identity security • Vulnerability management • Security frameworks and best practices • CCTV, Access Control, Alarms About You You are a technically curious and customer-focused professional who enjoys solving challenging problems and working across diverse client environments. You will likely have: • 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure engineering or senior systems engineering roles. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Experience working within an MSP, consulting or project delivery environment. • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes. • A continuous improvement mindset and desire to stay current with emerging technologies.
