Job Description

The Project Director leads data center projects end-to-end – from bid support and set-up through to handover – and is CTS's senior representative with clients, partners and the local supply chain. The role will help build our regional presence. The Project Director is accountable for delivering assigned projects on quality, cost, time and HSE. CTS Europe France is a small team backed by CTS Group, a 2,500-person organisation with almost ten years of data center delivery. The day-to-day feel is close to a start-up – short decision lines, broad scope, processes being built – but with the accountability of a subsidiary: existing clients and partners, Group standards and accounts to give back to the Group. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Project Director include: Winning Work · With the CEO to identify and develop long-term client relationships in the region that grow the business profitably. · With company leadership, select the right skills to prepare and lead proposals and presentations to win projects. · Ensure bid teams are fully briefed and debriefed, sharing lessons learned. Effective Resourcing · Plan skill requirements for assigned projects and help recruit quality people within budget and headcount, with leadership and HR. · Draw on Group resources and partners where the French team needs support to scale. Project Set-up and Close-Out · Direct timely, quality and cost-efficient set-up, with meeting, reporting and scheduling routines in place from day one. · Link set-up to close-out: quality processes, issue resolution and snagging aligned with cost, scope and programme. · Drive efficient close-out, including OPR, lifting of reservations, DOE and handover. HSE and Quality · Monitor health & safety processes, culture and behaviours; ensure compliance with the CTS Safety Management System and French regulations; personally attend any serious incident. · Work closely with the CSPS coordinator and the bureau de contrôle. Reporting and Risk Management · Report to CTS Europe France and the Group, identifying and addressing potential problem areas. · Manage programme, change and financial reporting to avoid commercial and relationship risks. · Maintain positive relationships with clients, their professional teams and the supply chain. People Management · Manage project teams in line with CTS values; give regular feedback and address performance issues promptly with HR. · Contribute to annual and professional reviews (entretiens annuels / professionnels). HSE Leadership · Respects the processes and practices of CTS EUROPE FRANCE. · Applies the CTS EUROPE FRANCE HSE policy and, more generally, French labour law (Code du travail). Authorities · Full accountability for delivery of assigned projects within the delegation of authority. · Leads the project team and manages relationships with the client and supply chain. · Approves project expenditure and changes within delegated limits. Education · Engineering degree (diplôme d'ingénieur / Master) or equivalent experience. · French: native or professional working proficiency. · English: professional working proficiency. Functional Knowledge and Skills · 15–20 years in construction, with a background in CSA or MEP. · Strong command of the French construction environment: permitting, ICPE, CSPS, PPSPS, OPR and réception, DOE, warranties. · Commercial awareness: delivers profit while preserving relationships. · Strong planning, cost control and reporting skills. Experience Requirements · 5–8 years leading major, fast-paced projects with significant turnover. · Minimum 5 years on the contractor side on data center sites, most recently at Senior PM / Operations Manager level or above. · Experience coordinating with clients, consultants and subcontractors on complex projects. Soft Skills · Practical, with a “yes, we can do it” attitude. · Role model and people developer; adapts leadership style to people and situations. · Calm and decisive under pressure. · Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team working within Group standards. Additional Details · Start date: as soon as possible. · Travel expenses paid. · When deployed away from the home base: accommodation and meals covered by the company.
