Lead Substation Designer

As a Substation Designer, you will be part of an established Project Management Office (PMO) that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.

These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.

Your Main Objective: Develop new, or modify existing: Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures Substation foundation layout/plan drawings Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings Conduit layout/plan drawings Substation grounding layout/plan drawings Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings Prepare electrical schematics Complete electrical wiring design drawings Develop a complete bill of materials for all required electrical equipment and materials.

Review and comment on equipment drawings received from vendors and manufacturers. Work with other disciplines (e. g. , Civil Engineers) as necessary to complete assigned work. Assist the project team with developing processes and procedures to increase team efficiency.
