About The Business Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components. Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata group. The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.’ Job Summary The Toolmaker will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing tools, dies, moulds, jigs, and fixtures used in production. The role requires hands-on experience in tool room operations and the ability to work with precision and accuracy. Key Responsibilities • Manufacture, assemble, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds as per drawings. • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances. • Operate conventional machines such as Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and Drilling machines. • Support tool trials, modifications, and continuous improvement activities. • Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure tool life and performance. • Troubleshoot tooling issues during production. • Follow safety guidelines and maintain 5S standards in the tool room. • Maintain tool-related documentation and records. Required Skills & Competencies • Sound knowledge of tooling processes and materials. • Ability to read and understand 2D drawings and basic GD&T'. • Hands-on experience with tool room measuring instruments. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Qualifications • Bachelor in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering. Desired Experience • 2–3 years of experience in tooling or manufacturing environment
