Job Description

Client: Government of Alberta – Justice / Court Technology Services (CTS) Location: Edmonton, AB – John E. Brownlee Building or First & Jasper Place Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite , 5 days/week Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM MT, 7.25 hrs/day, 36.25 hrs/week Positions: 1 Term: 3 years + possible 24-month extension Respond By: September 25, 2026 Security: Enhanced Security Clearance required, including Criminal Record Check + Credit Check Equipment: Provided by CTS Role Overview Government of Alberta is seeking a Senior Digital Architect to provide architecture leadership across the Court Technology Services (CTS) Applications, Data & AI portfolio. The resource will support enterprise/application architecture, modernization, digital services, AMS, cloud/OpenShift, data/AI, integration, governance, and technical delivery across Alberta Courts. Key Responsibilities • Develop current-state/target-state architecture roadmaps across business, application, data, integration, security and technology domains. • Define architecture principles, standards, patterns, guardrails and reusable components. • Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, integration models, technical assessments, decision records and implementation roadmaps. • Provide technical leadership to developers, application analysts, support teams and vendors. • Review technical designs, code, integrations, deployments and configurations. • Support DevOps, cloud, automation, CI/CD, environment management and Azure Red Hat OpenShift . • Lead discovery sessions, workshops and requirements analysis. • Translate business objectives into technical requirements, user stories, process models and solution options. • Provide architecture and technical oversight for Application Management Services (AMS) . • Support major incident reviews, problem management, change advisory, release planning and production readiness. • Participate in Architecture Review Board (ARB) and technical governance activities. • Review vendor proposals, estimates, technical designs and deliverables. • Support procurement, SOWs, architecture evaluations and knowledge transfer. • Define architecture approaches for data integration, analytics, reporting and AI-enabled services . • Support data governance, information architecture and secure/compliant AI adoption. • Present technical recommendations, risks, options and trade-offs to technical and executive stakeholders. • Promote standardization, reuse, modernization, simplification and operational sustainability. RequirementsMandatory Requirements • College or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. • TOGAF certification. • 8+ years leading cross-functional Agile product teams, providing architectural direction and mentoring developers/technical leads. • 5+ years architecting, managing and maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters . • 8+ years identifying and assessing requirements across multiple architecture domains, including: • Business • Application • Technology • Data/Information • Security • Privacy • 7+ years documenting application architectures in a large enterprise IT environment comparable to GoA. • 7+ years planning, designing, implementing and supporting enterprise platform solutions. • 8+ years providing technical leadership, planning, estimating and presenting technical solutions. Nice-to-Have Skills • 5+ years collaborating with data architects, engineers and analysts to design/optimize cloud architecture and services. • 5+ years developing application architecture standards and guidelines. • 5+ years working with enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) hub architecture/registries . • 5+ years developing enterprise solutions using amCharts . • 5+ years designing/maintaining enterprise mobile solutions . • 5+ years working with OWASP Top 10 Web Application Security vulnerabilities.
