• We're embarking on an engineering transformation at CommSec! • You have full-stack Web Devepment expertise and own outcomes. • Together we build the future of digital investing at scale. Do work that matters : This is a senior technical leadership role within CommSec Technology, responsible for building, evolving and supporting customer-facing web applications and digital product services used by investors every day. This is a true full stack engineering role focused on building and supporting customer-facing web applications and digital product services. You'll work across the entire stack, from developing React-based user experiences through to designing, building and maintaining REST APIs using C# and .NET. Success in this role requires strong hands-on expertise across both front-end and back-end engineering, with the ability to lead technical delivery and make architectural decisions across web applications, services and cloud-based platforms. As part of one of Australia's leading online brokerage platforms, we build and operate customer-facing applications that support millions of interactions every year. Working in a full-stack environment, our engineers develop everything from responsive web experiences and APIs to cloud-native services and platform capabilities that keep CommSec secure, scalable and reliable. Our team embraces full-cycle engineering, taking ownership from design and development through to testing, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement. Engineers work closely with product, design and business teams to solve complex customer and technology challenges using modern web technologies, cloud platforms, DevSecOps practices and AI-enabled tools. It's an environment where collaboration, technical excellence and customer impact go hand in hand, giving you the opportunity to help shape the next generation of digital investing at CommSec. We’re interested in hearing from people who: • Have deep full-stack web application development experience across React, TypeScript, C#, .NET and REST APIs , with strong front-end and back-end capability. • Build modern, scalable and high-performing customer-facing applications using React and TypeScript . • Design and develop secure, scalable REST APIs and services using C#/.NET and AWS . • Take end-to-end ownership across the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through to deployment and production support. • Lead solution design and architecture decisions, balancing scalability, performance, security and reliability. • Apply engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability and performance optimisation . • Leverage AWS, Docker and Kubernetes to deliver resilient, cloud-native applications. • Partner with product, design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions and customer outcomes. • Mentor engineers and drive technical excellence, standards and continuous improvement across the team. Tech skills: We don't expect you to know everything, but experience in several of the following will set you up for success: • Architecture & Design: System Design, Solution Architecture, Technical Decision Making • Front End: React, TypeScript • Back End: C#, .NET Core, Backend Services • API: REST APIs, API Development, API Design, Service Integration, API Security • Database: SQL, MSSQL, SQL/NoSQL Databases, Data Modelling, Query Optimisation • Cloud: AWS, Azure, Cloud-Native Applications, Cloud Architecture • DevOps: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes • Operations: Monitoring, Observability, Production Support • Engineering Practices: Automated Testing, Performance Optimisation, Reliability, Security • Full Stack: End-to-End Development, Front-End and Back-End Ownership • Other: Java (considered with willingness to transition to .NET) If you're already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you'll need to apply through Sidekick to submit a valid application.
