HR Operations Associate

Location: Remote Latin America (Mexico City or Buenos Aires preferred) Salary: $2,000 - $3,500/month About Union Union is a 3 person team that delivers People Operations and Recruiting expertise and services for high-retention startups. We work with our clients to build or upgrade any process, tools, and performance management policies necessary so our candidates, and everyone our clients hire, succeed long-term. About the Role: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR professional to support our 10+ client’s operations. Most of our clients are 10-60 person startups and SMBs in the US with some international teams. The ideal candidate will have 4-10 years of experience in human resources, a strong command of English, and the ability and detail-orientation to manage a diverse range of administrative HR tasks. Over time, we expect you to contribute to the firm’s internal operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the efficient functioning of a growing organization. Key Responsibilities: • Admin & Payroll: Run payroll, make changes to pay, and ensure accurate processing of I-9s and E-verify. • Onboarding: Handle the onboarding process for new hires, including document preparation and coordination of logistics such as booking hotels. • Communication: Draft and send communications to team members, executives, and the CEO, ensuring clarity and professionalism. • Sourcing and Recruiting Coordination: Depending on needs of business, you may also help a Recruiter. • Process Improvement: Use a process-oriented mindset to streamline workflows and improve efficiency, including quality assurance of HR materials (e.g., formatting of decks). Ideal Candidate Profile: • Experience: Diverse or in-depth HR experience, with a background in handling administrative tasks, payroll, and employee relations. A person not too senior to avoid boredom with detailed work but experienced enough to navigate complex HR processes. Someone who has worked for a consultancy, smaller US businesses managing HR, or who owned a diverse set of tools at a lager company would be ideal. • Knowing startups is great but not necessary, except writing style cannot be "too formal" or "corporate" • Strong proficiency in English (both written and verbal) for communication with employees, executives, and the CEO. • High attention to detail, ensuring no errors in formatting and employee communications. • Experience with HR tools such as Rippling, Justworks, and BambooHR. • Ability to write job descriptions and review communications for clarity. • Must be content with administrative tasks and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
