Job Description

About the role: The System Engineer is responsible for developing system-level solution concepts and integrating complex multidisciplinary systems into operational capabilities. Working closely with customers and engineering teams, the System Engineer transforms operational needs into deployable solutions, leads system integration activities, manages interfaces between technologies, and defines system requirements, operational scenarios, and expected system behavior that serve as the foundation for integration, verification, and validation activities. The System Engineer provides system-level technical direction to the Verification & Validation organization to ensure system requirements, operational objectives, and customer expectations are successfully verified and validated. This role is focused on advanced communications, SDR, RF, SIGINT, airborne, mobile, and mission-critical systems involving both internally developed and third-party technologies. What you'll do: Develop System-Level Solution Concepts : • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand mission objectives, operational challenges, and deployment environments; • Translate customer needs into system-level requirements and solution concepts; • Evaluate technical alternatives, trade-offs, and implementation approaches; • Participate in customer demonstrations, prototypes, pilot deployments, and technical engagements to validate solution concepts and operational requirements; • Ensure proposed solutions are practical, achievable, and aligned with operational objectives. Integrate Complex Systems : • Lead integration of hardware, software, RF, networking, and third-party technologies into complete system solutions; • Define and manage interfaces between subsystems, products, and external platforms; • Ensure system architecture, interfaces, and integration approaches support operational and performance objectives; • Identify and resolve integration issues, technical risks, and system-level dependencies; • Lead integration planning, execution, troubleshooting, and deployment activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams; • Ensure integrated systems meet operational, performance, and mission requirements. Provide System-Level Technical Leadership : • Act as the system-level technical focal point across multidisciplinary engineering teams; • Drive technical alignment and support informed engineering decision-making; • Lead or contribute to technical trade studies, reviews, and risk assessments; • Drive verification and validation strategy by ensuring system requirements, operational scenarios, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined, traceable, and validated through testing. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline; • Experience integrating complex hardware and software systems; • Experience translating customer or operational needs into technical solutions; Strong understanding of system architecture, interfaces, and multidisciplinary engineering concepts; • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple technology domains; • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills. Assets: • Experience with SDR, LTE, 5G, RF systems, SIGINT, tactical communications, or related technologies; • Experience with airborne, mobile, fixed-site, or mission-critical deployments; • Experience integrating third-party hardware, software, sensors, or networking platforms; • Familiarity with requirements management, interface control, and systems engineering methodologies; • Experience supporting government, defense, aerospace. Success Profile: Success in this role is measured by the ability to develop system-level solution concepts that address real customer needs, integrate complex technologies into reliable and deployable systems, and ensure those solutions are successfully verified, validated, and accepted by customers. The successful candidate is a systems thinker who can bridge customer objectives and engineering execution while maintaining a focus on operational outcomes and mission success.
