Site Manager

To manage and coordinate construction activities on site, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget while meeting required quality standards and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day construction activities on site. • Coordinate employees, subcontractors, suppliers and plant. • Ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications and programme requirements. • Monitor progress against the project programme and report delays. • Allocate labour, materials, plant and other resources effectively. • Assist with planning and programming of construction activities. • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and consultants. • Ensure site documentation and progress records are maintained. • Work closely with Health & Safety personnel to ensure compliance with safety requirements. • Monitor workmanship, materials and quality standards. • Address defects and non-conformances. • Supervise site employees and contractors and monitor productivity. • Monitor material and plant usage and minimise wastage. • Escalate operational, safety, quality and employee-relations issues appropriately. Minimum Requirements • National Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction/civil engineering. • Proven experience managing construction sites. • Strong knowledge of construction methods and site operations. • Knowledge of health and safety requirements. • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications. • Valid driver's licence. • SACPCMP registration would be advantageous, depending on project requirements.
