Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our engineering consulting client to find a first-class Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Kingston (Hybrid / Solo Branch). The primary responsibility of this role will be to lead the planning, design, and execution of mechanical engineering projects while driving local business development as the Kingston office's mechanical lead. Some of what you will do in this role includes: • Lead the planning, design, execution, and completion of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance, safety, and cost-effective delivery. • Act as Project Lead and Technical Lead on single- and multi-disciplinary initiatives, maintaining project timelines and budget targets. • Design complex HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems for industrial, commercial, and residential building projects. • Write detailed technical reports, project proposals, and abstracts while collaborating virtually with multidisciplinary engineering teams. • Develop and expand regional business relationships to grow the client base in the local market. You should have the following in your background to apply: • 8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, ideally within an engineering consulting firm. • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). • Technical proficiency in design software and tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Microsoft Office. • Strong working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code (OBC). • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical Engineering, alongside proven leadership capabilities.
