Job Description – Technical Writer (Banking Software) Experience- 3 – 5 Years Location- Bangalore/ Mumbai About the Role We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join our enterprise banking software organization. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in creating high-quality technical documentation for banking products and enterprise software platforms. The candidate should be capable of producing clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation including release notes, implementation guides, user manuals, API documentation, training materials, online help, knowledge base articles, and operational documents. The role requires familiarity with banking terminology, especially Islamic Banking concepts and processes, along with hands-on experience using modern AI-powered documentation and content management tools. Key Responsibilities * Create and maintain: * Release Notes * User Guides * Installation & Configuration Manuals * Functional Documentation * Technical Design Documents * API Documentation * Knowledge Base Articles * Online Help Content * SOPs and Training Documents * Collaborate with: * Product Managers/ Business Analysts * Developers/ QA Teams * Implementation Teams * Customer Support Teams * Understand banking workflows and convert complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation. * Work closely with engineering and product teams to document new product releases and enhancements. * Ensure consistency, usability, and quality across all documentation artifacts. * Follow documentation governance standards, templates, versioning, and review processes. * Use AI-powered writing assistants and documentation automation tools to improve productivity and document quality. * Maintain document repositories, templates, terminology standards, and style guides. * Participate in documentation planning for enterprise software releases. * Ensure documentation complies with enterprise documentation standards and audit requirements. Required Skills & Experience Mandatory Skills * 3–5 years of experience in Technical Writing for enterprise software products. * Strong experience in: * Release Documentation * User Manuals * Technical Guides * Product Documentation * Knowledge Base Documentation * API Documentation * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and enterprise software environments. * Experience working with banking or financial software products. * Familiarity with banking concepts such as: * Core Banking especially Islamic Banking terms such Murabaha, Mudarabah, Ijara, Sukuk, Shariah Compliance etc. * Payments * Lending * Strong attention to detail and documentation quality standards. * Ability to understand complex workflows and simplify them for different audiences. AI-Based Technical Writing Tools (Preferred Experience) Candidates with hands-on experience in AI-assisted documentation and writing tools will be preferred. AI-Powered Documentation & Writing Tools (example) * GitBook – AI-native documentation platform with Git integration and collaborative authoring. * Document360 – Knowledge base and technical documentation platform with AI-assisted drafting and content management. * Claude – AI assistant for drafting, editing, summarization, and long-form documentation support. ( TechRadar ) * ChatGPT – AI assistant for technical content generation, documentation structuring, and knowledge assistance. (TechRadar ) Non-AI Technical Writing Tools (Preferred Experience) * MadCap Flare * Adobe FrameMaker * Confluence * Jira * Microsoft Visio * Microsoft Office Suite * Swagger/OpenAPI * Markdown * GitHub * GitLab Preferred Qualifications * Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, English, Journalism, or related discipline. * Experience working with enterprise banking or fintech organizations. * Exposure to SaaS platforms, APIs, cloud environments, or enterprise integration platforms. * Experience with structured authoring and documentation version control.
