You've spent years keeping the numbers right, closing the books on time, keeping the auditors happy , making sure nothing slips through the cracks. But when was the last time someone actually used those numbers to make a call , instead of just filing them away? Are you hands-on enough to know the ledger inside out, and strategic enough to challenge a COO when the numbers say otherwise? This is a leading international law firm , with an office network spanning multiple continents and a well-established Brussels office of several dozen legal and business support professionals. The finance function plays a central role in supporting the firm's partners and operations, and is being reinforced to strengthen financial steering and business partnering at the highest level. You report to the COO and work directly with the managing partners , with a Finance Administration Officer reporting to you. Your impact as Finance Manager • Owning the Belgian general ledger , month-end close and monthly management reporting • Driving the billing-to-collection cycle , from invoicing quality to cash collection and working-capital discipline • Acting as financial business partner to the COO and senior leadership on pricing , profitability and strategic decisions • Guiding external accountants on statutory accounts, VAT and tax compliance, with deep Belgian accounting expertise as the backbone of the role • Leading and mentoring a Finance Administration Officer, while building finance literacy across the organization Your profile as Finance Manager • Master's degree in Finance, Economics or a related field • 7 to 15 years of experience in finance • Fluent in English , plus fluent French or Dutch THE OFFER • Salary between €75,000 and €100,000/year, depending on experience • Bonus based on individual performance • Net expense allowance ( €150/month ) • Meal vouchers (€8) • Group and health insurance • Full reimbursement of public transport • 26 holidays (20 statutory + 6 extra-legal) • 2 days of home office per week • Direct leadership of a Finance Administration Officer • Real ownership of the firm's financial steering • Exposure to cross-border projects and best practices across an international network • Room to grow into a recognized expert in law-firm finance and operations • Great team who works and grow together Send your CV to h.katar@waltspencer.com or brussels@waltspencer.com.
