Software Development Manager, Alexa Growth

Description Alexa Growth organization's mission is to enable Alexa+ engagement depth and breadth by focusing on C/WAA (Conversations per Weekly Active Account) and #asks/WAA.

We drive acquisition of new customers and deepen engagement of existing ones through horizontal, cross-functional initiatives, end-to-end experience optimization, and rigorous high-tempo experimentation - worldwide, across paid and free tiers.

We are under the broader Alexa Core Experiences org and are looking for a Software Development Manager based out of our Hyderabad office.

Key job responsibilities As a Software Development Manager in Alexa Growth, you will be responsible for directly managing a team of engineers, for ensuring that their work is delivered on time and at a high quality, and for making technical decisions from software architecture to operational excellence.

You will ensure your features can scale to support Alexa in a variety of languages and across the wide range of devices on which Alexa is available.

Basic Qualifications

- 7+ years of engineering experience - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Preferred Qualifications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
