Business Analyst - Avaloq Banking & Wealth Management

Salary: £48,000 - 68,000 per year Requirements: • Proven experience of 10+ years as a Business Analyst within Banking or Wealth Management • Hands-on experience with the Avaloq Banking Suite, including configuration, parameterisation, or business rule development • Strong understanding of Wealth Management processes, including portfolio management, client onboarding, KYC/AML, custody, trade execution, and reporting • Experience writing BRDs, functional specifications, and user stories in Agile/Scrum or Waterfall environments • Solid understanding of core banking operations, securities processing, and financial products • Experience with UAT planning, execution, and defect management • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical audiences • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting UK wealth and private banking, including FCA regulations, MiFID II, and Consumer Duty • Proficiency with requirements and documentation tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and MS Office • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience • Relevant industry certifications such as CBAP or BCS Business Analysis Diploma are advantageous • Avaloq certification(s) are advantageous • Experience with Avaloq Front (AF) or Avaloq Wealth is advantageous • SQL or data analysis skills are advantageous • Prior experience in a private bank, wealth manager, or Tier 1/2 banking institution is advantageous • Knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe is advantageous Responsibilities: • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from stakeholders across Wealth Management, Private Banking, and Operations functions • Act as a subject matter expert on the Avaloq core banking system, advising on platform capabilities, configuration options, and best practices • Produce high-quality business requirement documents, functional specifications, process maps, and user stories • Work with Avaloqs Business Rule Framework, Script Language, and Reporting tools to define and validate solution designs • Liaise with Avaloq vendor teams and internal developers to ensure requirements are correctly implemented • Support system testing, including test case design, UAT coordination, and defect triage • Analyse current-state processes and design improved future-state processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency • Support regulatory and compliance-driven change initiatives within the Avaloq environment • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement walkthroughs • Produce clear documentation and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences • Support project managers with planning, RAID logs, and status reporting as required Technologies: • Avaloq • Confluence • Support • JIRA • SQL More: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in the Avaloq core banking platform to join our Change & Transformation team.
