Lead Solution Architect

• Two programs in one contract • Architecture ownership from discovery through to production • $1,115 per day, six months, Sydney based About the Company Our client is a global insurance business operating across Australia and New Zealand. A large scale modernisation of their claims and digital platforms is underway, with investment in automation, self service, and straight through processing to improve customer outcomes and reduce operational effort. About the Role This is a six month contract based in Sydney, working alongside the Principal Enterprise Architect, claims leadership, and delivery squads. The role spans two initiatives: a New Zealand claims transformation and a new direct to customer digital platform for SME insurance. You will own solution integrity end to end, from discovery through to production. Benefits • $1,115 per day + GST • Six month engagement with scope across two concurrent transformation programs • Greenfield build on a direct to customer digital platform, not maintenance of legacy systems • Direct exposure to enterprise architecture and claims leadership, with genuine influence over solution direction • Sydney based Duties / Key Responsibilities • Shape problem statements and MVP scope during discovery, translating epics and ideas into clear solution intent alongside enterprise architecture and claims leadership • Own end to end solution integrity across delivery squads, covering integration, orchestration and data flows through to production • Design the digital customer journeys for the SME direct platform, including quote, bind, policy servicing, payments, identity and self service capability • Define and enforce architecture patterns across APIs, event driven components, workflow and rules based decisioning, including resilient error, retry and fallback handling • Own the non functional and security design, covering performance, scalability, resilience, observability, data protection and production support readiness Skills and Experience • Extensive solution architecture experience across claims, policy or other core insurance domains • Track record of carrying architecture through both discovery and delivery, rather than handing designs over at the design gate • Experience delivering digital, self service platforms for customers directly, including quote to bind journeys and payments • Strong depth in APIs, orchestration, event driven architecture, workflow and decisioning design • Ability to define integration across core platforms and external services, with a clear position on failure handling • Solid non functional grounding across performance, scalability, resilience, observability, security and operational readiness • Comfortable testing feasibility early, articulating trade offs, and holding governance across squads and delivery partners • Experience working with third party vendors and enterprise delivery partners across local and global teams Desirable: • Core insurance platform experience, Guidewire or similar • Cloud delivery experience, preferably Azure • Exposure to AI enabled solutions Conor is recruiting for this role on behalf of Allura Partners.
