Senior Kotlin Backend Developer • Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands • Employment Type: Contract / Freelance • Start Date: Immediate • Duration: 6 Months • Experience: 10+ Years • Domain: Digital / Backend Development Role Overview • We are seeking an experienced Senior Kotlin Backend Developer to join an Agile Scrum team developing business-critical and strategic applications. • The successful candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and development through to deployment and ongoing operational support. • This role follows a DevOps way of working , with developers taking ownership of the reliability, quality, and availability of their applications. • Availability for 24/7 standby shifts is required. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain backend applications using Kotlin and Spring Boot . • Design and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. • Analyse and design application and data architecture solutions. • Develop applications supporting business-critical and strategic delivery processes. • Write clean, efficient, and high-quality code. • Enforce coding standards and software quality practices. • Develop and maintain development best practices. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement. • Manage application deployments and releases. • Take end-to-end ownership of the team's code and applications. • Monitor application availability, reliability, and performance. • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including: • Daily stand-ups • Backlog refinement • Sprint planning • Sprint retrospectives • Work collaboratively with other developers, engineers, Product Owners, and technical stakeholders. • Participate in 24/7 standby/on-call support when required.
