Job Description
Take an event brand that works and open it in a new market.
For 15 years we have been building B2B events for the e-commerce industry - including E-commerce Berlin Expo, one of Germany's most recognized e-commerce events, with 300+ exhibitors across 15,000 m². From our Poznań office we run year-round operations for the whole portfolio.
We are opening the next event in the portfolio, in a new European market. It carries the group's identity, its format and its reputation.
You are not starting from a blank page. There is a visual identity system, a content engine, a media partner network, ten editions of audience data and a marketing team in Berlin who have done this before and with whom you’ll be working with. What does not exist yet is the version of it that works for a new market. That translation is the role.
About us
•
Location: Poznań (hybrid after the onboarding process)
•
Team: 18–23 people
•
Global B2B Events & Marketing Solutions (Trade Fairs & Lead Generation Events)
•
Works with: Sales&LeadGen team, as well asmarketing team from Berlin event
•
Start: October/November 2026
Audience - the number that decides whether the event works
•
Plan and run the acquisition campaign across paid, organic, partnerships, community and referral. You hold the media budget and decide how it is spent.
•
Adapt what already converts for our flagship event to a new market - you have the data and the creative from ten editions, so you are testing variants rather than inventing a funnel.
•
Build media, association and community partnerships locally: the reach we do not have to pay for.
•
Track the funnel honestly - registrations, confirmation rate, show-up rate, audience profile against what we promised exhibitors. Tell us early when the numbers are bad.
Paid media and creative
•
Own the creative behind them: briefs, ad copy, visual direction, landing pages. Ads are something you author and iterate, not something you approve once at the end of a process.
•
Run the agency relationship. We expect to work with an external performance partner - you brief them, set the target, read their reporting critically, and cut a channel when it stops earning. Directing an agency well matters more to us than executing every channel yourself.
•
Own measurement: cost per registration by channel, and whether the audience each channel delivers actually matches the profile we promised exhibitors. A cheap registration from the wrong profile is not a win.
Brand
•
Extend the group's brand into a new market: positioning, voice, and the argument for why this event belongs there. Consistent with the portfolio, not a copy of it - the market is different and the messaging has to be.
•
Own the event website - structure, content, launch, and everything after launch.
•
Own social channels and the content calendar through the run-up.
And what comes next
The event programme - the speakers, the partners, the community around the show - is built out of the marketing function too. That work starts properly in 2027, with dedicated support, and you will help shape how it is set up rather than inherit a fixed brief. We mention it so you know the direction of the role, not because we are asking you to do it in your first quarter.
What you bring
•
3+ years in B2B marketing, brand, content or event marketing, with ownership of something rather than a supporting role in it.
•
Experience acquiring an audience against a number - event registrations, webinar attendance, community growth, lead volume. This is the part we will probe hardest, and it matters more to us than agency pedigree.
•
A portfolio. Three things you shipped tell us more than a list of tools.
•
Hands-on experience running paid campaigns - Google Ads and paid social - and briefing creative for them. You do not need to be the best media buyer we could hire, but you need to know when an agency is telling you a comfortable story.
•
Strong writing. This role produces a lot of text and the text is the product.
•
English B2/C1 is a must. German, due to the market, is a plus. Polish is welcome, but not required.
•
Comfort with a hard, unmovable date and with prioritising out loud when two things want the same week.
Nice to have
•
Trade fair, conference or event industry experience
•
Conference programme or speaker acquisition experience
•
Understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem: platforms, agencies, logistics, payments
•
DACH or CEE market experience
•
Experience directing an external performance agency rather than running every channel in-house
What we offer
•
A brand with ten editions of proof behind it - and a market where you decide how it is introduced.
•
Media budget and real decision-making authority. We are not hiring someone to wait for approvals.
•
Employment contract or B2B - your choice.
•
Access to the group's playbooks, creative, audience data and the Berlin marketing team. You adapt a proven system rather than guessing.
•
Specialist support bought in where it makes sense: performance, native copy, design.
•
Hybrid model with flexible hours - most of us start between 8:00 and 9:30.
•
MacBook Air for personal use, MultiSport Premium.
•
Travel across Europe, including our flagship event in Berlin every February.
•
A goal with a hard date. You will know exactly whether you won.
Interested? Apply and tell us how we can build the brand together!
One more thing: put the word Compass in the first line of your application. It tells us you read all the way to the end - that is the only thing it tests, and it takes you three seconds :)
