Role Overview:
A premier global metals manufacturing group is seeking an accomplished Head - Human Resources (Plant HR) to lead the end-to-end people charter for its large-scale integrated plant operations.
Reporting directly to the Unit Head and functionally to the Corporate CHRO, this role acts as the strategic HR business partner for a multi-thousand manufacturing workforce across operations, technical services, supply chain, and corporate support functions. The mandate centers on talent strategy, shop-floor workforce productivity, capability development, performance governance, leadership pipelining, and building a high-performance manufacturing culture aligned with global safety and operational benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with plant leadership (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain) to align human capital strategy with operational throughput, productivity, and cost-containment goals.
- Drive strategic workforce planning, technical cadre hiring, campus talent pipelines (GET/DET/MT programs), and niche executive hiring for heavy plant engineering roles.
- Institutionalize robust KPI/KRA frameworks, merit-based performance management, shop-floor incentive plans, and productivity-linked appraisal systems.
- Build structured multi-skilling frameworks, TPM-aligned training matrices, apprenticeship programs, and high-potential leadership development pipelines.
- Drive shop-floor employee engagement, diversity initiatives, workplace wellness, and anchor a proactive safety-first organizational culture.
- Implement and optimize HRMS platforms, digital attendance, automated grievance mechanisms, and predictive HR analytics for attrition control and workforce optimization.
- Oversee plant compensation structuring, benchmark local market benefits, manage township administration, and ensure corporate HR policy adherence.
Desired Profile:
- 15-22 years of progressive HR experience, with substantial exposure as a Plant HR Head / Lead HRBP in heavy manufacturing setups (Steel, Metals & Mining, Heavy Engineering, Process/Chemical industries).
- Full-Time post-graduate degree in Human Resources (MBA / MSW / PGD-HRM / PMIR).
- High emotional intelligence, expertise in heavy-industry talent management, workforce productivity metrics, and executive stakeholder alignment.
