Job Description

Hi... My name is Lena, and I am the founder of Go! Running Tours. This is not your usual job post. Instead of the classic recruiter ad filled with words like "dynamic," "self-starter," and "people person," I thought I'd simply share the good, the bad, and the ugly about being a Recruiter & Onboarder with Go! Running Tours. Maybe no one will reply. Maybe many will. I just need one really good one. So, let's start. Our new Recruiter/Onboarder will be responsible for finding, selecting, and onboard the incredible running guides who make Go! Running Tours what it is today. You should get a kick out of owning the entire process from identifying candidates to bringing them to the finish line. We are not looking for quick fix recruiters, but for that one person who is able to recruit colleagues who will work with us for the next 5, 10, 15 years. Because truly good colleagues are hard to come by and even harder to let go ?. In the team, we have everything from bike messengers to professors, from a young and fast 22-year-old, to an even faster retiree (sub 3 marathon type of retiree ?). Your job will be to identify these candidates, bring them on board, and assist them in the early steps of their journey and ensure the quality of our tours. The most important traits to bring to the role are being a fast mover, a super collaborator, and having a drive to grow... the business and yourself. But the most important skills of all are: execution and persistency (not the annoying type, but the type that brings you to the finish line of a marathon). And this is likely where the "ugly" comes in, because our colleagues have different backgrounds, different personalities and different lives outside Go! Running Tours. That means that some of our colleagues complete the onboarding and associated tasks without blinking and to perfection, while others may need more support and follow-up to reach the finish line. You will be working directly with me in the role. I love my job, and every day I am utterly grateful that I work in a company with a concept that "makes sense" to me, and with colleagues who are skilled, helpful, and positive. I love running, and I have the pleasure of working with runners from all over the world — and together, we cater for the best customer group in the world: runners! Some people may find me difficult to work with, as I am impatient, I focus radically on progress, and I dislike sloppiness (with a passion). Most people, I believe (or at least hope), also find me kind, fun, optimistic, trusting, and understanding (admittedly still very little understanding for sloppiness ;-)). My guess is that if you are good at what you do and eager to excel in this role, we will end up best buddies! We work remotely and have only 2–3 hours of internal meetings a week. All other time is reserved for interviews and basically getting things done. There is always time for a call, and we are all on Slack, so you're never left alone in any way. We're just on the other side of the world ?. The salary is not one that will secure you a Ferrari or a holiday to Mauritius (at least not to begin with). It is a salary that should be comfortable and is based on reduced working hours, so you can have a fun and fulfilling life besides work. The money should not be the main motivation for you - running, bridging cultures, and being part of a fun, fast-moving, and positive company should. The contract details are as follows: Contract details are as follows: 10 hrs/week USD 12/hr + bonus Managed via upwork Oh, and hey... if you're considering this role as an add-on to an already existing full-time job, then hold your horses ?. I don't believe in my colleagues working 50+ hours a week, and it simply doesn't align with our company values. We want you to have the energy, focus, and headspace to do great work and enjoy life outside of it. That's it, I think. I've probably left out loads of super important things, but at least this gives you some idea. If you feel this role could be for you, then please write to me via ****** with a short spiel on why you feel you're right for the role and why you would like to work at Go! Running Tours (no AI please - we want to know the real you, not the ChatGPT version ?). All the best and happy running, Lena
