Job Description

In this role you will be joining a team of technical professionals supporting a large-scale z/OS systems platform. This position requires an experienced systems programmer with at least 3 years of experience supporting the z/OS Mainframe Network environment.

Responsibilities

include configuring and maintaining the integrity and data/IP security of the Mainframe's host communication subsystems and associated program products. Your responsibilities will include: Being part of a multi-functional team, supporting IBM mainframe networks and transmissions products and infrastructure.

Participation in support rota providing 24x7 cover.

Perform TCPIP Port Reserves (Additions, Deletions, Changes) Perform VTAM updates (Additions, Deletions, Changes) Manage OSA Adapters in a complex mainframe environment Perform VTAM PU/LU updates (Additions, Deletions, Changes) including Enterprise Extenders (EE) Implement AT-TLS rules (digital certificate management).

Configure and manage IPSEC policies (permit/deny rules, VPN- ipsec tunnels) Trace, Debug and Error Analysis Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure Network connectivity and security (may involve some after hours and weekend work) Basic Required Qualifications: Experience of working as a z/OS Systems Specialist in the IT industry of over 10+ years Preferred Qualifications: Experience in administering file transmissions products such as Connect:Direct and FTP, or alternatively good experience as a user of these products.
