Job Description

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Java Developer, Backend Developer, or Full Stack Developer.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience building applications using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience using Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control platforms.
• Familiarity with Maven or Gradle build and dependency management tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Previous experience working within Agile environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Active SC Clearance required. Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and integrations with internal and third-party systems.
• Build and enhance solutions using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and microservices architectures.
• Work closely with Architects, Business Analysts, QA teams, Product Owners, and DevOps engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and promote coding best practices and quality standards.
• Support unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and defect resolution activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support CI/CD delivery processes and automated deployment pipelines.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation where required.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to application stability, performance, and reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and software engineering best practices. Technologies:

We are hiring a Java Developer Contractor for a high-profile technology delivery programme. This is a 6-month contract based in London on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the office. The role sits inside IR35 and offers a daily rate of £540 to £640 via umbrella. We are looking for a hands-on developer to help design, develop, and enhance enterprise-scale applications in a collaborative Agile environment, working closely with Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.
