This is an executive leadership opportunity where marketing sits at the centre of the commercial agenda. Reporting to the General Manager, Retail, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of marketing across a portfolio of established consumer brands, leading a high-performing team and partnering closely with Sales, Product, Design, Technology and Operations to drive business performance. The business is currently undergoing a significant technology and digital transformation, creating a rare opportunity for a marketing leader who enjoys building capability, leading change and influencing organisational strategy. You will inherit a function with strong foundations and play a key role in defining what the next phase looks like. Opportunity This role combines strategic leadership with commercial accountability. You will lead the development and execution of the overall marketing strategy, ensuring every campaign, investment and initiative contributes to profitable growth. You will oversee customer acquisition, lead generation, conversion and brand performance across multiple consumer brands, balancing long‑term brand building with measurable commercial outcomes. You will also play a pivotal role in launching new propositions to market, evolving existing brands and identifying new opportunities to strengthen customer engagement throughout the buying journey. With customer purchase cycles extending anywhere from nine months to several years, you will help create more connected customer experiences, stronger lifecycle marketing and increasingly personalised communications. Key Responsibilities Commercial Marketing Leadership • Own the end‑to‑end marketing strategy across two well‑established consumer brands and launch another brand. • Drive qualified lead generation, customer acquisition and conversion performance. • Ensure marketing investment delivers measurable commercial outcomes through improved attribution, reporting and optimisation. • Manage a substantial multi‑million‑dollar marketing budget, balancing immediate commercial performance with long‑term brand growth. Brand Strategy & Go‑to‑Market • Continue evolving the positioning of established consumer brands to create stronger market differentiation and emotional connection. • Develop integrated marketing strategies spanning brand, digital, content, CRM, PR and performance marketing. • Lead go‑to‑market strategies for new product launches, developments and customer propositions. • Partner closely with Product and Sales to ensure marketing supports broader commercial priorities. Digital Transformation & Customer Experience • Lead Marketing’s contribution to a significant business‑wide transformation program. • Shape the evolution of digital channels, customer journeys and marketing technology. • Partner with Technology to deliver improvements across website experience, CRM, marketing automation and personalisation. • Champion emerging AI capabilities and identify opportunities to improve customer engagement and marketing effectiveness. Marketing Performance & Data • Build a more sophisticated performance marketing capability grounded in data and commercial insight. • Establish robust reporting frameworks, campaign measurement and marketing attribution. • Drive a strong test‑and‑learn culture, ensuring investment decisions are informed by customer insight and business outcomes. • Continue improving marketing operations, processes and governance to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Leadership • Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary marketing team across brand, digital, customer communications, product marketing and marketing technology. • Continue building a high‑performing, collaborative and commercially focused culture. • Coach emerging leaders while strengthening capability across the broader function. • Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, influencing decisions through insight, commercial thinking and credibility. About You • Experience leading large, multidisciplinary marketing teams within complex consumer businesses. • A strong background across brand, digital marketing, CRM, customer experience and marketing technology. • Demonstrated success delivering commercial growth through customer acquisition, lead generation and conversion optimisation. • Experience leading website transformation, digital experience, marketing automation or CRM programmes. • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing significant marketing budgets and agency partnerships. • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and work effectively across complex organisations. • A collaborative leadership style that develops people, builds trust and creates accountability.
