HSSE Internal Auditor Manager

About the Role We are looking for an experienced HSSE (health & safety, security and environment) or engineering professional to join the Group Integrated Audit (GIA) team. The primary focus of this role is to perform audits of HSSE risks and controls across Sembcorp’s global portfolio of operating assets and project sites. Depending on business needs and individual experience, the role may also support audits of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and project activities. As part of the GIA team, you will work closely with site personnel and business leaders to provide independent and objective assurance and help strengthen safety, operational excellence and risk management. Responsibilities : • Plan and conduct audits on HSSE and O&M (if possible) areas, to assess risks and evaluate control adequacy and operating effectiveness. • Identify control gaps and/or lapses against established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and recommend improvements to address the observations • Articulate and discuss control issues and/or gaps and corrective action plans with stakeholders and auditees. • Prepare clear and concise reports for Senior Management and Audit Committee. • Follow-up on corrective actions and validate effectiveness of remediation measures. • Complete audit working papers through documenting the audit work procedures, audit work performed and the audit evidence reviewed that supports the audit observations. • Use AI and technology-enabled audit techniques to evaluate controls Requirements : • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with good academic record. • Minimum 5 years of experience in HSSE, O&M, engineering, audit or compliance role • Hands-on experience conducting inspections, audits, compliance reviews, investigations or operational assessments • Strong understanding of operations & maintenance practices and HSSE management systems in power generation, renewables, utilities, water, construction environments. • Strong analytical, critical thinking, observation and root cause analysis skills • Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English and/or Chinese • Able to travel overseas when required (up to 30%) • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team • Experience in data analytics or AI tools is preferred Our Culture at Sembcorp At Sembcorp, our culture is shaped by a strong set of shared behaviours that guide the way we work and uphold our commitment to driving the energy transition.
