Civil Engineering Design Manager

Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Civil Engineering Design Manager to lead their design division based in the vibrant hub of Sandton . This senior role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil engineering design across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and efficient project delivery. You will manage a team of talented engineers and drafters, foster a culture of high performance, and liaise with key stakeholders to uphold the company's reputation for delivering cutting-edge infrastructure solutions in Gauteng and beyond. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the civil engineering design process from conceptualization to detailed design. • Oversee the preparation of design drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports. • Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international engineering standards, codes, and regulations. • Manage design resources, allocate tasks, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines and budgets. • Mentor and develop the design engineering team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of design and execution. Requirements • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering. • Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential. • Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil engineering design, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role. • Proven expertise in various civil engineering disciplines (e.g., roads, water, bulk earthworks). • Strong knowledge of design software and project management tools. • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills required for managing a team in Sandton .
