Job Description
Role :
HMI Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and maintain Human-Machine Interface solutions for automotive infotainment (IVI) systems. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Android Automotive/AOSP, UI development, and integration with automotive middleware and vehicle systems.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Design and develop HMI applications for automotive infotainment systems.
- Develop and customize Android AOSP/AAOS-based HMI applications.
- Implement HMI features for Media, Radio, Bluetooth, Phone, Navigation, Settings, and Vehicle Controls.
- Integrate HMI applications with Android Framework, Middleware, Car Service, and VHAL.
- Develop applications using Java/Kotlin and Android UI frameworks.
- Implement application lifecycle, permissions, IPC, AIDL/Binder, LiveData, Observer, and MVVM/MVP architecture.
- Debug and resolve application, framework, UI, and integration issues.
- Analyze crashes and logs to ensure stable and crash-free applications.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, memory usage, and startup time.
- Work closely with UX/UI, BSP, Middleware, VHAL, System, and Testing teams.
- Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and release activities.
Required Skills :
- Strong experience in Java/Kotlin and Android application development.
- Hands-on experience with Android AOSP / Android Automotive (AAOS).
- Good knowledge of Android Framework and application architecture.
- Experience with Android UI/HMI development.
- Knowledge of AIDL, Binder IPC, Car APIs, Car Service, and VHAL.
- Experience with Android Studio, ADB, Logcat, Git, and Linux.
- Good understanding of MVP/MVVM, LiveData, Observer, and Shared Preferences.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Automotive IVI/HMI platforms.
- Exposure to Android 12 or later is preferred.
- Knowledge of Android Automotive Emulator will be an added advantage.
Education :
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Experience :
- Automotive IVI / HMI / Cockpit development experience.
- Experience with AAOS/AOSP customization and system applications.
- Exposure to Vehicle HAL and automotive middleware integration.
- Experience working in cross-functional automotive software development teams.
