Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President - Projects to oversee and manage the lifecycle of our real estate projects. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned civil engineer with over 18 years of experience in the industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership and communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of project execution from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Planning and Management: - Develop and implement project plans, schedules and budgets. - Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. - Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. - Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. 2. Execution and Monitoring: - Oversee the day-to-day operations of projects to ensure they align with the approved plans. - Monitor and track project progress, addressing any issues that arise. - Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and other legal requirements. - Conduct regular site visits to oversee quality control and ensure projects are progressing as planned. 3. Leadership and Team Management: - Lead, mentor and manage project teams, including project managers, engineers, and site supervisors. - Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. - Provide training and development opportunities for team members. 4. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: - Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications. - Prepare and present regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders. - Address and resolve any project-related conflicts or issues. 5. Risk Management: - Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle. - Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges and ensure project continuity. 6. Financial Oversight: - Manage project finances, including budget preparation, cost tracking and financial reporting. - Ensure efficient allocation of resources and control project expenses. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 20 years of experience in project management within the real estate industry. - Proven track record of managing large-scale real estate projects from inception to completion. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Proficiency in project management software and tools. - Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Skills: - PMP or similar project management certification. - Experience with green building practices and sustainable construction methods. - Familiarity with the latest industry trends and technologies.
