Summary The Lead SPE (Supplier Performance Engineer) develops and maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure they are executing our purchase orders in accordance with GE Grid Solutions requirements. Participate in the company initiative to expand the supply base globally. Collaborate with all stake holders (internal & external) for sustained annual performance targets across Quality, Delivery, and Cost with nominated critical poor performing Suppliers. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities • Drive Supplier selection by doing audits (SRG, Qualification and process audit) • Perform Periodic & Surveillance supplier audits and coordinate supplier self-assessments as required. • Support, Collect, Evaluate and Perform audit requests from the Product lines. • Works with Product Lines and Global Commodity Leaders to address critical issues related to customer needs and supplier performance. • Non-conformity Management – drive Root cause analysis, effective implementation and sustaining the actions • Identify competency gaps within the supply chain process by analysis of Key Performance Indicators and intelligence gathering to develop, introduce, and lead Supplier Improvement Plans • Supplier development – Work with supplier / supplier team to improve performance in terms of Quality and delivery performance • Develop and maintain communications with all levels of staff and suppliers by communicating openly and honestly, treating all people with dignity, respect, and courtesy. • Product development & approval – Work with Global suppliers located in India to develope parts / products to meet the abroad unit’s requirements. • Define product / process / documentation requirements and ensure compliance by the suppliers • Communicate with colleagues abroad to ask and / or provide clarification on technical topics • Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain about product development and procurement of parts. • Pre-shipment inspection – of parts developed / serial production parts Required Qualifications • Expected: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university; and 14 + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Preferred: Previous quality engineering, Supplier quality engineering, product development engineering experience in a Electrical / electronic manufacturing environment is required. • Low cost country supply chain experience. Including Incoterms / packing requirements / documentation requirements Desired Characteristics • Auditing/ISO 9001 standard • Strong Analytical and problem - solving skills, Lean Six Sigma knowledge • Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language. Bilingual preferred. • Ability to read, analyse technical procedures, drawings, governmental regulations, and quality management rules. • Must communicate clearly with suppliers in written and verbal means. • Other Skills: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form. • Ability to work independently. • Customer and supplier relation skills. • Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills. • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Programs and Windows Operating Systems. • Strong knowledge in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) Self Management • Ethics & Compliance mindset • Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies • Assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcomes change • Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working together • Proactively contributes to the team • Is self-aware and ability to work on own initiative • Shows moral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes #LI-Remote - This is a remote position
