Introduction Job Title: Business Analyst Location: Johannesburg Contract type: Contract (6 Month Contract) Hybrid Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic organisation within the Financial Services sector on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams and technology teams to understand business requirements, analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement and translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements. The Business Analyst will play an important role in supporting business and technology initiatives from requirements gathering through to implementation, ensuring that solutions are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable value. Duties & Responsibilities Roles and responsibilities: • Engage with key stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges and objectives. • Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements. • Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops and stakeholder sessions. • Analyse existing business processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. • Develop process maps, workflows, user stories, use cases and business requirement documentation. • Translate business requirements into clear requirements for technical and development teams. • Act as a key link between business stakeholders and technology teams. • Conduct current-state and future-state (As-Is / To-Be) process analysis. • Support solution design and ensure proposed solutions address the identified business requirements. • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenarios and validation of solutions. • Identify project risks, dependencies, assumptions and potential business impacts. • Support change and implementation activities where required. • Monitor requirements throughout the project lifecycle and manage changes appropriately. • Ensure appropriate documentation, governance and traceability of requirements. • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and contribute to project reporting. Desired Experience & Qualification Experience and qualifications: • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Management, Finance or a related discipline. • 5–8 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst. • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, preferably within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Professional Services or another regulated environment. • Strong experience in business requirements gathering and documentation. • Experience with business process analysis, process mapping and optimisation. • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Experience working across business and technology environments. • Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies. • Experience developing user stories, use cases, process flows and functional specifications. • Exposure to UAT and solution implementation. • Experience working on digital transformation, systems implementation, integration or business improvement projects would be advantageous. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. • Strong facilitation and workshop management capabilities. • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and practical solutions. • Strong documentation and attention to detail. • Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholder groups. • Strong understanding of business processes and technology. • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced project environment. • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
