Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack (Java/React)

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year Requirements: • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience • Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building enterprise-grade backend services and APIs • Hands-on experience developing modern front-end applications using React or equivalent frameworks • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design • Experience integrating or working alongside artificial intelligence and machine learning models within production systems • Proven ability to lead technical delivery across the full software development lifecycle in an agile environment • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve complex technical challenges independently • Experience working within financial services, risk technology, or regulated technology environments • Familiarity with wholesale credit risk concepts, instruments, or related financial products • Exposure to mobile application development or cross-platform frameworks • Experience with data engineering, real-time data pipelines, or event-driven architectures • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security-by-design principles in cloud environments Responsibilities: • Architect and deliver robust, scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React to support wholesale credit risk workflows • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across distributed systems • Integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into risk technology platforms to enhance analytical and predictive functions • Drive end-to-end software development lifecycle activities, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support • Collaborate with product managers, risk stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions • Champion engineering best practices including code reviews, test-driven development, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and system vulnerabilities • Contribute to the evolution of the teams technology strategy, evaluating emerging tools and frameworks to modernize the platform Technologies: • API • AWS • Architect • Azure • Backend • CI/CD • Cloud • DevSecOps • Support • Java • Machine Learning • Marketing • Mobile • React • Security • Spring • Spring Boot • microservices • Fullstack More: We are JPMorganChase, and within our Corporate Technology organization and MarketRisk Technology team, we build resilient, high-impact systems that support critical risk functions across our global wholesale credit portfolio.
